Description
Davis School District announces an opening for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the Student and Family Services Department for the 2025-2026 School Year. This position will remain open until filled. GENERAL FUNCTION: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for Davis School District is a professional who provides behavior analytic services and consultation to schools. Primary responsibilities will include assessment of behavior, supporting the development/revision of Behavior Intervention Plans, training/supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians and Safe School Interventionists, and consultation with school teams and communication with District leadership. The BCBA will also sit on the Elementary District Case Management Team for consultation on referred cases. The BCBA is expected to have and maintain board certification through the BACB at time of application and throughout employment in this position. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Assessment of behavioral function and needs in schools through functional behavior assessment (including functional analysis, when applicable). * Create and revise school-based behavior intervention plans. * Work with school teams and building administration in development and implementation of behavior intervention plans. * Facilitate positive parent and school team relationships. * Coordinate information between community, home and school-based services for students. * Coordinate and communicate needs with District based leadership. * Establish & maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity. * Provide prompt, safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills. * Fade prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding. * Increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations). * Accurately collect behavior data including A·B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording. * Follow behavior/treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment. Seek out appropriate consultation. * Participate in supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians. * Perform other BCBA tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree and experience working with students with special needs in a school setting preferred. Would also consider those in a BCBA Masters Program who are interns. * BCBA credential in good standing. * LBA license with the State of Utah * One year of experience as a BCBA. * Two years of successful experience working with latency age children with significant behavioral needs, preferably students with ASD or other developmental disabilities. * Ability to build and maintain relationships with students and school staff. * Ability and desire to work patiently and compassionately with students who have challenging behaviors (e.g., yelling, biting, hitting, kicking, pinching). * Ability to work independently and with a team. * Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively to other members of team. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks. This position requires frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to students' needs; regularly requires the individual to lift 30-50 pounds. This is an 8 hour per day/185 days per year position. This position will be paid on Davis School District's Salary Table 1 (Educator Pay Table)
