Job description

These business-critical systems ensure accurate reporting on agreed SLA parameters (power, environmental, non-standard MSA parameters). The BMS System Administrator (BMS Technician) ensures that all Data Centre Systems (Netbotz, DCE, EBO, and PME) are set up, tested, and configured to provide valid, accurate data at all times.

Objectives
  1. Main Functions of the Job
  2. Conduct and manage working methods to ensure all client SLAs are achieved.
  3. Configure and manage Data Centre monitoring systems.
  4. Map current transformers and other power monitoring devices to internal systems.
  5. Verify data to confirm correct values are being captured.
  6. Ensure no duplication of data.
  7. Set up virtual sensors on BMS Systems.
  8. Enhance systems and automate reporting.
  9. Produce PME kWh reports.
  10. Generate SLA reports from EBO.
  11. Handle month-end billing, including power exceeded and footprint billing.
  12. Monitor CT power on DCE.
  13. Log daily tickets for issues related to offline devices or unusual data readings on DCE.
  14. Configure CT alarms on DCE and Ozone.
  15. Set up and configure virtual sensors on BMS Systems.
  16. Update PME with new client and cabinet information.
  17. Investigate CT power tickets in collaboration with Data Centre Technicians.
  18. Liaise with DCS teams for ticket resolution.
  19. Attend monthly power capacity meetings with management.
  20. Improve current processes and introduce automation for simplification.
  21. Perform daily system checks to ensure devices are online, operational, and free from alarms.
  22. Ensure monitoring devices run the correct firmware versions.
  23. Test latest firmware versions in a test environment before implementation, in coordination with national Operations teams.
  24. Participate actively in new data centre builds or expansions.
  25. Complete comprehensive root cause analyses for all monitoring system incidents or outages.
  26. Respond quickly to potentially critical situations relevant to the role.
  27. Manage third-party vendors and ensure service delivery for hardware and software support.
  28. Participate in network, physical, and cyber security matters related to monitoring systems.
  29. Assist operationally to investigate and resolve system configuration issues.
  30. Review daily reports to identify outliers and collaborate with Data Analysts for resolution.
  31. Proactively identify, implement, and review monitoring reports for potential issues within 24 business hours.
  32. Identify and report cabinets exceeding environmental thresholds.
  33. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  34. Meet inter-departmental Operational Level Agreements (OLA).
  35. Implement company and departmental policies, processes, and work instructions according to quality standards and deadlines.
