Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years software dev experience with 4+ years in blockchain leadership/architecture.
• Expertise in smart contract languages (Solidity, Go, Rust) and platforms (Ethereum, Hyperledger).
• Proven experience architecting complex blockchain solutions.
• Understanding of cryptography, consensus, and distributed ledgers.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing financial technology firm, is seeking an experienced and driven Blockchain Technical Lead to spearhead their blockchain initiatives. This critical role is based in our Upington, Northern Cape office, requiring full-time in-office commitment. You will provide technical leadership, guide development teams, and architect innovative blockchain solutions that enhance our financial services offerings. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of blockchain technology, smart contract development, and distributed systems, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills. You will play a pivotal role in defining our blockchain strategy and ensuring successful implementation of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of blockchain developers in the design, development, and deployment of secure and scalable blockchain solutions.
• Architect and oversee the implementation of smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps).
• Define technical standards, best practices, and coding guidelines for blockchain development.
• Collaborate with product management, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to define project requirements and roadmaps.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and foster a high-performance development culture.

Requirements

• Expertise in smart contract development languages (e.g., Solidity, Go, Rust) and platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger).
• Proven experience in architecting and building complex blockchain solutions.
• Deep understanding of cryptographic principles, consensus mechanisms, and distributed ledger technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
