Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize core blockchain protocols and consensus mechanisms. Implement and test cryptographic primitives and secure communication protocols. Contribute to the research and development of novel blockchain architectures and features. Analyze and improve the performance, scalability, and security of existing blockchain networks. Develop and maintain low-level code for blockchain nodes and network infrastructure. Collaborate with a team of world-class researchers and engineers to push the boundaries of blockchain technology. Write technical documentation and specifications for protocol designs and implementations. Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback on code and designs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues at the protocol level.

Requirements

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, or a related field with a strong theoretical background. 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on systems programming, cryptography, or distributed systems. Deep understanding of blockchain consensus algorithms (e.g., PoW, PoS, BFT variants). Proficiency in low-level programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Go. Experience with network programming and distributed systems architecture. Strong knowledge of cryptographic principles and their application in blockchain. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct rigorous research and translate findings into practical implementations. Strong communication skills, essential for collaborating with the team in Nelspruit .
