About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking logistics company integrating blockchain for supply chain transparency, is seeking a diligent Blockchain Network Administrator. This role is based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape , with a hybrid work arrangement offering flexibility. You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our client's blockchain network infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and performance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in network administration and a keen interest in distributed ledger technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain blockchain nodes and network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement and enforce security protocols to protect the blockchain network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Manage user access, permissions, and digital identities within the blockchain environment.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.
• Troubleshoot network issues, diagnose hardware and software problems, and implement timely resolutions.
• Stay updated on blockchain network protocols, updates, and best practices for network management.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate new features and applications onto the blockchain network.
• Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data privacy standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in network administration, system administration, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain technologies, including operating and managing nodes.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP), network security, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with different blockchain architectures and consensus mechanisms.
• Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
