Reports To : Principal or Assistant Principal

Purpose of Role :

Blended learning facilitators in the foundation phase drive student achievement by managing the Learning Lab, SPARK’s innovative computer lab. They work directly with students in various settings to provide academic interventions in literacy and maths, fostering a culture of rigorous and engaging learning experiences.

Responsibilities :

  1. Create a positive student culture around online learning and small group tutoring, maintaining high behavioral expectations.
  2. Coach students on computer programs and ensure effective use of educational software.
  3. Create and submit lesson plans for tutoring sessions.
  4. Tutor small groups in literacy and maths skills.
  5. Submit bi-weekly reports on ST Maths.
  6. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop individualized learning plans.
  7. Implement SPARK culture and behavior management strategies.
  8. Incorporate SPARK SEL curriculum with scholars.
  9. Use and store Learning Lab resources responsibly.
  10. Report hardware damages and fill incident reports as needed.
  11. Maintain an updated asset list of hardware in the Learning Lab.
  12. Participate in staff development opportunities.
  13. Be prepared to cover classes as needed.
  14. Conduct oneself professionally at all SPARK Schools events and interactions.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Fluent in English.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Studying part-time towards a PGCE in the Foundation Phase, in their 3rd or 4th year, aiming to become a qualified teacher.

Experience :

  • Experience working with primary school-aged children.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology.
