AECOM is currently recruiting for the role of BIM + Information Manager (Civils). This position is responsible for managing the implementation of BIM and Information Management on civils projects for Enterprise Capabilities. It offers a hybrid work schedule, including both office and remote work opportunities, based at one of four office locations in South Africa.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  1. BIM Implementation Strategy – develop BIM implementation strategy and deliver complex international projects.
  2. CDE Management – establish and administer the CDE, supporting efficient management of multi-stakeholder projects.
  3. Project Management – coordinate BIM execution and project delivery with project leadership.
  4. BIM Execution – create and maintain project’s industry framework documents: BEP, MIDP, MPDT, appendices, etc.
  5. Technical Support – establish data-integrated workflows for civils projects and provide support, guidance, and training to project teams.
  6. Digital Technology & Content Management – oversee production of smart object content, templates, libraries; deploy content management systems like Autodesk Content Catalog or UNIFI; promote best practices in digital collaboration tools.
  7. Quality – establish and administer digital quality assurance procedures.
  8. Collaboration – act as an ambassador for a global group, working with regional project teams, Enterprise Capabilities office disciplines, and other digital departments.

Qualifications :

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 19650 framework and BIM standards.
  • Experience managing and delivering project information on multidisciplinary civils projects with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience with BIM software such as Revit, Civil3D, InfraWorks, OpenRoads, OpenRail.
  • Experience working with and administering CDE platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud or Bentley ProjectWise.
  • Proficiency in multi-discipline coordination, clash detection, issue management; advanced skills in Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto, or ACC Model Coordination.
  • Strong background in producing 3D and 2D model deliverables for civils projects, civil structures, and utilities.
  • Visual programming knowledge (preferred), e.g., Dynamo, Bentley Generative Components, Grasshopper.
  • Portfolio demonstrating BIM work for civils projects.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Deep understanding of ISO 19650 and BIM standards.
  • Experience managing project information for multidisciplinary building projects with dispersed teams.
  • Proficiency with BIM software such as Revit, Civil3D, OpenBuildings.
  • Experience with CDE platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud or Bentley ProjectWise.
  • Expertise in multi-discipline coordination, clash detection, issue management; advanced skills in Navisworks, Revizto, or ACC Model Coordination.
  • Proven ability in producing 3D and 2D model deliverables for building projects.
  • Portfolio showcasing BIM work for transportation projects.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written), team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.

Professional Qualifications :

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology, Construction Technology, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of industry experience in BIM and digital delivery, with formal multidiscipline BIM Manager/Coordinator roles.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of visual programming tools like Dynamo, Bentley Generative Components, Grasshopper (preferred).
  • International experience with global project teams; experience in regions like Australia, USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Middle East, or Asia is advantageous.
