Core Purpose of Role

To support our three studios in Cape Town, Gqeberha, and Johannesburg from a BIM Coordination perspective, reporting directly to the National BIM Manager.

The position is based in our Cape Town studio.

Key Performance Areas

The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Reporting directly to the National BIM Manager and the Technology, Research and Development Executive, collaborating to ensure the successful delivery of key performance areas.
• Overseeing the implementation of BIM processes across various projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Implementing and enforcing SVAi BIM standards, protocols, and guidelines.
• Introducing new BIM technologies and supporting tools for BIM projects.
• Providing training and support to project teams to maintain data and model integrity, and collaborating with BIM stakeholders to optimize workflows.
• Developing, communicating, and implementing BIM execution plans for projects.
• Aligning BIM objectives with overall project and organizational goals.
• Facilitating communication and coordination among multidisciplinary project teams using BIM tools.
• Providing BIM training to project team members.

Overseeing BIM Model Development and Maintenance

• Supporting information exchange among project stakeholders in accordance with protocols, ensuring data integrity.
• Collaborating on workflows, protocols, and testing of BIM software and tools.
• Working with the IT department on hardware and software installations.
• Monitoring BIM process performance and implementing improvements.
• Engaging with stakeholders to understand BIM requirements.
• Reporting BIM progress and addressing stakeholder concerns to project leaders.
• Identifying and mitigating risks in BIM processes.
• Facilitating design collaboration and model coordination.
• Implementing BIM coordination strategies aligned with project schedules.

Managing the Organization's Revit Content Library

• Assisting in developing protocols for creating and obtaining Revit families for the organization.
