Job summary

BDO South Africa is seeking a Finance Support - Team Leader (Billing Associate grade 050) to lead the SSC billing and WIP activities within the Shared Service Centre. The role focuses on delivering accurate invoicing, WIP clearance and service excellence for internal customers.

You will develop as a finance SME, coach the team, manage HR aspects and ensure SLAs are met while driving process improvements across the billing function.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team within a large organisation, ideally in professional services or finance.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to meet SLAs and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Escalation point for team members.
• Collaborate with SSC and central finance to maximise service usage.
• Ensure the team deliver against SLAs.
• Manage and supervise a team with coaching and development.
• Oversee HR-related activities for the team.
• Provide cover for other hub teams.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to improve services.
• Lead design and evaluation of finance projects.
• Act as first contact for billing and WIP management queries.
• Provide timely updates to stakeholders on bills and invoices.
• Manage priorities to meet deadlines.
• Handle tickets in ServiceNow.
• Develop self and others; identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with SSC and Central Finance to update the business.
• Identify improvements in finance systems to increase efficiency.
• Deal with difficult situations and coach.
