Manage embassy financial operations and ensure compliance with South African regulations while supporting communication with Arabic-speaking stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain full set of financial statements and monthly/annual reports
- Process accounts payable/receivable, payroll, VAT and statutory returns
- Conduct bank reconciliations, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure internal controls
- Draft and translate financial correspondence in Arabic and English as required
- Prepare formal financial submissions to South African and UAE government bodies
- Maintain strict confidentiality of embassy financial data
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA is advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to government, embassy, or multinational finance
- Proven ability to correspond and liaise with official organizations and government departments
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
- Advanced MS Excel and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks)
- No previous criminal record (police clearance required)
- Two or more contactable references from previous employers
