Job summary

An embassy financial management team in South Africa seeks an experienced financial manager to oversee financial operations. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least 5 years of accounting experience, and is fluent in Arabic and English. Proficiency in accounting software is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to government, embassy, or multinational finance.
  • Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA is advantageous.
  • No previous criminal record (police clearance required).

About The Job

Manage embassy financial operations and ensure compliance with South African regulations while supporting communication with Arabic-speaking stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain full set of financial statements and monthly/annual reports
  • Process accounts payable/receivable, payroll, VAT and statutory returns
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure internal controls
  • Draft and translate financial correspondence in Arabic and English as required
  • Prepare formal financial submissions to South African and UAE government bodies
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of embassy financial data
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA is advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to government, embassy, or multinational finance
  • Proven ability to correspond and liaise with official organizations and government departments
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
  • Advanced MS Excel and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks)
  • No previous criminal record (police clearance required)
  • Two or more contactable references from previous employers
