A leading recruitment company is seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join their team in Gauteng. This role focuses on extracting and transforming data from accounting and payroll systems, primarily using SQL and Sage, while also developing BI reports in Excel and Power BI. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in SQL development, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join our team, responsible for extracting, transforming, and presenting data from accounting and payroll systems, with a specific focus on Sage .
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL development, proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and similar reporting software, and the ability to query REST and SOAP web services.
Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities : Extract, transform, and load data from accounting and payroll systems, primarily Sage , using SQL.
Develop and maintain BI reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and other relevant reporting tools.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval.
Query and integrate data from REST and SOAP web services.
Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
Ensure data integrity and security across all processes.
Desired Experience & Qualification Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5-10 years of experience as a SQL Developer or similar role, with a focus on accounting and payroll systems.
Proficiency in SQL programming and database management, with a strong understanding of relational databases.
Experience with Sage or similar accounting and payroll systems.
Solid understanding of data visualization principles and experience with Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services, and the ability to query and integrate data from these sources.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
