Job summary

Nedbank is seeking a BI Data Analyst to support and maintain the data warehouse and provide business intelligence analysis. The role uses Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to deliver insights across the Business and Commercial Banking environment, interacting with diverse stakeholders in a leading South African financial institution.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL development skills, data modelling expertise, and experience in data governance and metadata management.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications align with Matric/Grade 12 and higher degrees.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, etc.
• Actual experience designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse, lakehouse, and data mart solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL development, data transformation, and data integration techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in Power BI data modelling, semantic modeling, visualization, and enterprise reporting.

To ensure the support and maintain the data warehouse in line with the data model; metadata repository and to provide business intelligence analysis through performing strategic and operational support.

Job Responsibilities

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who has:

• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, and Data Mart development.
• Advanced SQL development skills and expertise in data transformation, integration, and optimisation.
• Strong Power BI capabilities, including data modelling, semantic models, dashboard development, and self-service reporting solutions.
• Solid knowledge of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modelling, metadata management, and data governance principles.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

• A Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Essential Certifications

• Data Management (DAMA) Certification, Certification/formal training in relevant technology

Minimum Experience Level

• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines within a banking or financial services environment.
• Practical experience designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse, lakehouse, and data mart solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL development, data transformation, and data integration techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in Power BI data modelling, semantic model development, visualisation, and enterprise reporting.
