Job summary

Tiger Brands in Gauteng is seeking an Assistant Operator – Beverages Packaging to provide support to the packaging team, fill in for absent staff, and ensure smooth operations, quality and safety during shifts.

You will operate beverage packaging machinery, load materials, maintain cleanliness, follow SOPs, and help meet daily production targets while adapting to different lines and teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or packaging (preferred but not mandatory).
• Ability to operate basic machinery and follow technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to work across different shifts and packaging lines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit to handle repetitive tasks and moderate lifting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor beverage packaging machinery (bottling, labeling, sealing, and palletizing).
• Ensure packaging materials (bottles, cans, labels, cartons) are available and properly loaded.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area in compliance with hygiene standards.
• Conduct routine checks to ensure packaging quality meets company specifications.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
• Assist in inventory control of packaging materials when required.
• Provide support across different packaging lines depending on operational needs.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
