Position: Betting Clerk - Boulevard, George

Key Responsibilities

Branch Growth

• Ensure betting boards are updated promptly.
• Update memos, card changes, results, and scratchings throughout the day.
• Be knowledgeable on all betting rules, odds, and pay-outs.
• Call the BSC and Events Office before laying bets over confirmation limits.
• Inform team leaders or the betting manager when laying large bets that do not require confirmation.

Sales Administration

• Manage cash within the branch according to procedures, minimizing risks.
• Remain alert to attempts of fraud or theft.

Cash Management

• Ensure accurate float amounts at the start of shifts.
• Perform interim checks with the team leader during the day.
• Deal with cash shortages immediately; shortages less than R250 must be paid back on the same day.
• Declare shortages and overs on the recon.

Branch Appearance

• Keep the branch neat and tidy according to standards.
• Maintain work stations in good condition.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.

Customer Service

• Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous service.
• Address complaints proactively and give positive feedback.
• Build relationships with regular customers.
• Promote a customer-centric culture with a "service with a smile" attitude.

Compliance

• Adhere to internal control policies and ethics.
• Dress in the correct Hollywood uniform during shifts.
• Refrain from taking credit bets or bets while off duty in uniform.
• Do not be behind the terminal counters when off duty.
• Avoid using the limited payout machine when on duty.
