Diversity, Equity & Compliance Co-ordinator / Specialist

Location: Midrand

Job Type: Full-time

Reports To: General Manager Safety

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Employment Equity and BBBEE Specialist / Coordinator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing and implementing the Employment Equity (EE) and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) initiatives within our organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in compliance, reporting, and strategy development related to employment equity and BBBEE, ensuring that the company meets its legal obligations while promoting diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employment Equity Management: Coordinate and implement the company's Employment Equity plan in alignment with the Employment Equity Act. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance, develop action plans, and provide guidance on policies and procedures. Maintain compliance files, facilitate EE committee meetings, and prepare reports.
  • BBBEE Strategy and Compliance: Oversee the development and implementation of the company's BBBEE strategy, monitor performance, prepare reports, and guide management on skills development strategies. Manage external and internal learnerships, liaise with stakeholders, and oversee socio-economic development initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, government bodies, and industry stakeholders. Provide training and support on EE and BBBEE principles.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, assist in report preparation, and analyze data for insights.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Coordinate inspections, review reports, and organize safety meetings.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Develop CSR strategies, oversee community programs, and ensure legal compliance. Promote employee volunteerism and track impact.
  • Other Duties: Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in Employment Equity and BBBEE compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in strategy development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
