A well established and national battery retailer requires a Battery Fitter at their Witbank branch. The purpose of the role is to fit batteries and to maintain an efficient flow of merchandise within the branch.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for battery fitments
• Call outs for fitment
• Battery charging & Testing
• To ensure tools are packed away neatly after use.
• To ensure charge bay is neat and tidy
• To relay battery status on to counter salesman
• To ensure fitments and call outs are done in a professional manner.
• Other duties reasonably relating to this position
• Keep storage areas and carts well stocked, clean and tidy
• Report damage, theft and found articles to supervisors
• Serve replenishments to employer, employees, customers and guests
• Assist with any other reasonable work requests

Key Requirements

• Matric
• Valid South African driver’s license and Hazchem licence
• Essential customer service and communication skills.
• Min 2 years battery product and application knowledge, including ability to read catalogues
• Must be able to interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Well-spoken and presented (fluent in English: read, write & speak)
• Physically strong and healthy. Able to lift heavy items
• Battery/Technical knowledge will be an advantage
• Availability over weekends and/or public holidays where required
