Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Barman at our Japanese Restaurant, Hoseki, at Delaire Graff Lodges & Spa, to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. The ideal candidate will be able to create both classic and innovative drinks that exceed customers’ needs and expectations.

Main Responsibilities :

  1. Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons;
  2. Interact with customers, take orders, and serve drinks and snacks;
  3. Assess customers’ needs and preferences, and make recommendations;
  4. Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails;
  5. Plan and present the bar menu;
  6. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies;
  7. Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience;
  8. Comply with all food and beverage regulations & ensure minimum losses;
  9. Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas;
  10. Check drinks presentation and temperature to ensure quality;
  11. Ensure everything in the bar is set-up and ready for service, including coffee stations and all machines;
  12. Assist management in taking bar stock.

Main Requirements :

  1. Preferably 3+ years of previous experience as a Barman;
  2. Ability to travel to and from the property for late shifts as required;
  3. Passionate about the hospitality industry;
  4. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal (in person and telephonic);
  5. Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills;
  6. Ability to maintain professional working relationships across departments, cultures, and religions;
  7. Comfortable dealing with very distinguished clientele;
  8. Honesty, flexibility, accountability, and friendliness;
  9. Professional manner and attitude;
  10. Punctuality & self-discipline;
  11. Extreme attention to detail;
  12. Basic computer and administrative skills.
