Job Description

  1. Ensure the bar ethos is in line with Movenpick Waterpark Resort & Spa Soma Bay standards are consistently maintained.
  2. Ensure and promote compliance with all local liquor, health and sanitation regulations.
  3. Manage and provide direction to all bar employees on the floor during shifts and events.
  4. Hold staff accountable to uphold uniform and grooming standards to the highest level.
  5. Ensure that staff receives consistent and proper communication (verbal, email, memos etc).
  6. Monitor departments performance with respect to the bars budgets.
  7. Monitor and maintain proper inventory to ensure it's in line with budgeted cost of sales.
  8. Seek out and produce events to generate revenues for the property.
  9. Hold staff accountable for giving an Engaging Dynamic Guest Experience to all guests on property.
  10. Consistently monitor quality of service and product delivered on property.
  11. Collaborate on needs of departmental staff scheduling.
  12. Instruct staff in on-going training to uphold service standards.
  13. Coordinate menu sponsorship deals and menu product placement.
  14. Act as the direct liaison to the Engineering and Housekeeping Departments in regards to maintenance of the property's functionality and overall look.
  15. Interview employees and provide input on talent selection.
  16. Assess employee performance and provide feedback annually and throughout the year.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred.
  3. One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  4. Enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
  5. Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  6. Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  8. Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  9. Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
  10. Must have knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations on bar operation.
