Job description

Barista - Fixed Term seasonal contract - 1st November 2023 to 31st March 2024

Job Summary :

We are looking for a charismatic, guest-oriented Barista with great attention to detail, to prepare hot drinks and organize coffee bar services in accordance with RCH standards.

Organisational Positioning :

  • Department : Azure
  • Reporting to : Azure Manager
  • Location : The Twelve Apostles Hotel Premises

Minimum Experience or Qualification :

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Must have at least 2 years of barista experience in an upmarket coffee shop, bar, or restaurant
  • Exposure to a Point of Sale System (Micros - advantageous)
  • Good command of the English Language with solid knowledge of hospitality vocabulary
  • Highly presentable
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays

Key Performance Objectives :

  • To prepare hot beverages in accordance with recipes and RCH timeframes whilst ensuring minimal wastage
  • To maximize revenue-generating opportunities, whilst enhancing the guest service experience, through upselling, in accordance with outlet service journey
  • Ensuring that mise en place is done in accordance with outlet standards
  • Service guests in accordance with outlet service journey and company service culture
  • Handle operating equipment in accordance with company standards ensuring minimal breakages
  • Ensure that all revenue is accounted for by practicing the “swipe before you serve” principle for all transactions
