Job Description

Role Overview

Our business product offering has grown significantly over the years which has led to the development of the OUTsurance Broker Tied Agent Model. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for growing and developing the business insurance portfolio by building a book of short-term insurance.

The individual will sell personal lines and Commercial lines by prospecting and canvassing for new business sales.

Minimum Requirements:

  3. Communication (verbal and written) in English.
  4. Analytical, Numerical & mathematical skills.
  5. Team supervisory skills.
  6. Confident and enthusiastic self-starter who can take initiative.
  7. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team - balances team and individual responsibility, provides and accepts feedback.
  8. Problem-solving skills.
  9. Relationship management skills.
  10. Presentation and facilitation skills.
  11. Resilience - Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate.
  2. Must have your own reliable vehicle with uninterrupted access to the vehicle.
  3. Valid code B driver's license.
  4. 3 years of external sales experience in a face-to-face selling environment.
  5. Experience in lead generation, cold calling, relationship management and opening doors.
  6. Should you have previous experience as a FAIS representative the following is non-negotiable: FAIS credits / Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA) RE5 (depending on DOFA).

Additional Information:

The OUTsurance Broker will report directly to the OUTsurance Broker Regional Manager and will work closely with the wider Commercial team. An ideal candidate will be able to align their personal work values to the OUTsurance values of Awesome Service, Dynamic, Honest, Human, Passionate and Recognition. In accordance with OUTsurance Insurance Company Ltd Employment Equity goals, preference will be given to individuals who meet the job requirements and are from the various designated groups.
