Job description

Welcome to Huble, a HubSpot's global partner of the year!

We are a global HubSpot, AI, marketing & creative consultancy enabling mid-market and enterprise businesses to move faster, adapt smarter, and innovate freely—by building their business around HubSpot's CRM.

We believe in striking a balance between professionalism and being human. As a Back-End Developer, your primary role involves developing web applications, web pages, website modules, and landing pages.

A key aspect of your responsibilities will be creating integrations between the HubSpot platform and various SaaS platforms.

Since Huble is a HubSpot agency, you will mainly focus on integrating the HubSpot platform with other systems. We advocate for code reuse and maintain an internal program to collect reusable HubSpot modules.

Any modules you develop should be designed for reusability whenever feasible. This role does not involve direct client interaction, though you may occasionally need to participate in client meetings as a technical expert.

Here are a few of the tasks you'll work on:

  1. Ensuring the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of code produced
  2. Maintaining web applications, implementing new features, and resolving bugs
  3. Reviewing API documentation for feasibility of requirements
  4. Addressing issues in existing applications as reported by QA specialists or AMs
  5. Documenting all bug resolutions in the relevant QA documentation
  6. Adhering to Huble's Back-End development standards
  7. Developing and maintaining back-end coding standards and processes
  8. Overseeing live updates per Huble's standard procedures
  9. Proactively improving processes & practices
  10. Participating in daily development standups
  11. Providing technical solutions to meet client requirements efficiently
  12. Developing integration solutions based on client needs
  13. Researching and proposing ideas to enhance the website experience
  14. Joining scoping sessions to translate client needs into development hours and costs

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a backend developer focusing on server-side logic, APIs, and data management
  • Strong understanding of modern PHP (8.x), including advanced features, with an emphasis on efficient, clean, and secure code
  • Proficiency with Symfony (5 / 6) or similar PHP frameworks
  • Basic proficiency in HTML5 for server-rendered output
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript and experience with Node.js for backend development
  • Basic familiarity with CSS
  • While prior experience with HubSpot is advantageous, it is not mandatory; we value strong back-end skills and a willingness to learn

Key personal qualities include:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
  • Timely escalation of issues
  • Proactive approach to learning and sharing web technology knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

You will collaborate closely with Gary, the Head of Back-End Development, with support from Marc, Head of Development.

Interview process:

  1. 1st Interview (30 min)
  2. Take-home assessment
  3. 2nd Interview (30 min)
  4. Final Interview (30 min)

We aim to complete the process in under 2 weeks, subject to availability.

Remuneration benefits include:

  • Remote work flexibility
  • Load-shedding support with a provided power station
  • Home office budget
  • IT equipment options (MacBook or Windows laptop, monitor, mouse)
  • 18 days of annual leave plus 2 extra days for special occasions
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Huble Swag
  • Subsidized medical aid

If you're eager to join us, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and let's Huble together!
