B2B Sales Development Representative required in Cape Town.

Pipeline Professional Services, an award winning Business Sales Development Agency, based in Cape Town CBD is in search of B2B Sales Development Representatives

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Pipeline Professional Services, you will be responsible for executing successful campaigns for our B2B client base by generating leads, qualifying prospects, and/or setting up meetings for our clients.

Your efforts will directly contribute to our clients’ success and our sales team by ensuring a consistent pipeline of high-quality prospects within our client’s target markets. All of our clients are UK-based, with some work taking place in Europe and now South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation:

  • Research and identify prospects within the client’s ICP through various channels such as LinkedIn and prospecting tools.
  • Generate new business leads through cold calls, emails, and social media outreach, tailored to the specific needs of each business client.

Qualifying Prospects:

  • Engage with decision-makers in target companies to understand their business challenges and needs and thereby secure them as leads for our campaign clients.
  • Use qualifying criteria to assess whether prospects align with the client’s offerings and determine the commercial relevance.

Appointment Setting:

  • Schedule discovery calls, demos or meetings between qualified prospects and the client team, ensuring all relevant details are clearly communicated.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to provide the most relevant information prior to meetings.

CRM Management:

  • Maintain up-to-date records of leads, prospects, and interactions in the CRM system (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Track and report on outreach activity, lead conversion, and pipeline progress to ensure alignment with sales goals.

Collaboration with Client Sales Team:

  • Work closely with client and inhouse account executives to ensure a smooth transition from lead generation to sales meetings.
  • Share insights and feedback about prospect needs to help fine-tune messaging, sales strategies, and product offerings.

Sales Metrics & Targets:

  • Meet or exceed monthly activity quotas, including calls, emails, and meetings set.
    Contribute to the overall sales pipeline by ensuring consistent lead generation and qualification.

Continual Learning:

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive products, and best sales practices to maintain a high level of expertise and contribute to team success.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of proven experience in a B2B sales and lead generation role.
  • Experience in business-to-business sales and understanding of the B2B sales process is a requirement.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with business decision-makers.
  • Strong research and prospecting skills to identify and engage potential clients.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve sales targets.
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Tech-Savvy:

  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to use prospecting tools such as email automation software and platforms such as Apollo and Cognism and social selling tools such as SalesNav.

Personality Traits:

  • Energetic and driven, with a strong desire to succeed in a target-driven environment.
  • A problem-solving mindset with a focus on helping business clients find solutions to their needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • The ability to work without requiring micro management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the B2B sector selling solutions to businesses especially to international B2B markets is a requirement to secure an interview.
