Job description

The Product Owner II is a key member of the agile team, responsible for defining user stories and prioritizing the team backlog to align with program priorities, while ensuring the conceptual and technical integrity of features or components. The role involves ownership of products of varying complexities, collaborating closely with product management to execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing input into the refinement of the program backlog, ensuring the team is prepared for PI planning and keeping management informed of progress towards PI objectives.
  2. Continuously refining and sequencing the product backlog.
  3. Providing transparent and clear direction to ensure the development team understands priorities.
  4. Driving mobile digital omnichannel customer engagement based on customer preferences and strategies.
  5. Supporting strategic customer experience initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Product Owner in an agile environment, successfully launching new features and translating business strategies into consumer products.
  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of analytics and big data.
  • Customer user and loyalty experience.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance (POPIA, Electronic Information Act, etc.).
