Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description : We are seeking a highly experienced and certified Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.

The role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in Azure administration, security, automation, and infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
2. Lead cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of transitioning on-premise systems to Azure.
3. Implement Azure security best practices, including identity management, data protection, and access control.
4. Manage Azure networking, virtual machines, containers, and other IaaS components.
5. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts to automate deployment and configuration processes.
6. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure environments for performance, cost, and reliability.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with other enterprise applications.
8. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers in the team.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies, and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements to the infrastructure.
10. Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for Azure environments.

Required Skills and Experience :

1. 10-12 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5+ years dedicated to Azure cloud environments.
2. Deep expertise in Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Backup.
3. Experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud solutions.
4. Strong knowledge of cloud networking (VNETs, Subnets, NSGs, VPNs) and hybrid cloud configurations.
5. Proficiency in automating infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar tools.
6. Hands-on experience with monitoring and managing cloud resources, using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other tools.
7. Strong understanding of Azure security, governance, and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Certifications :

1. AZ- : Microsoft Azure Security Technologies
2. AZ- : Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
3. AZ- : Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop

Other Qualifications :

1. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and present solutions to stakeholders.
2. Azure certifications are highly preferred, demonstrating deep knowledge and commitment to continuous learning.
3. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple projects and priorities.
