What will you do

  • Manage resources such as Server instances (EC2) and Databases (RDS / MySQL), and oversee security including IAM, GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS Detective, and Network Access Control within the AWS Cloud environment.
  • Handle server setup, administration, and system monitoring to ensure operational stability and uptime.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage resources (EC2, RDS/MySQL, IAM) within AWS and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Ensure minimal downtime, incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Configure and manage Linux server instances, keeping platforms updated, and automate processes using AWS Systems Manager and AWS Inspector.
  • Implement continuous security monitoring using AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, and AWS GuardDuty for timely detection and response.
  • Perform regular backups via AWS Backup for RDS, EC2, and DynamoDB; utilize S3 versioning for objects stored in S3.
  • Resolve development support tickets logged by users.
  • Maintain security best practices across all AWS services.

Qualifications

At least one of the following Cloud Certifications (administrator or associate level):

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate

Additional relevant certifications (advantageous):

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

Deal Breakers

Minimum 3 years of experience as a SysOps Engineer or similar role, with expertise in:

  • Managing Linux-based systems, comfortable with bash shell.
  • Networking concepts including CIDR and subnet configuration.
  • Cloud security configuration and monitoring.
  • Scripting in Bash/Python and SQL skills.
  • Working in cloud environments and cybersecurity.
  • Infrastructure as code tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi.

Preferred additional experience:

  • PCI DSS compliance
  • Docker
  • NoSQL databases
  • Cloud Functions
