Job summary

DVT is a leading software development company in Africa, offering consulting to top clients in South Africa and globally. We seek an AWS Platform Engineer to join our cloud team, driving automation, CI/CD, and best practices for secure, scalable cloud platforms.

You will engage with enterprise clients across financial services, telecommunications, and government, providing technical leadership and mentoring. Strong Python, CDK, and governance skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• At least one relevant professional certification (AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent).
• South African work authorisation or valid work permit.
• Experience with enterprise platform builds and governance.

Responsibilities

• Set up Sage Maker Unified Studio (SMUS).
• Collaborate with the networking team and advise on VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups etc.
• Automate domain creation and project creation within SMUS, MyAccess and EntraID.
• Integrate with EntraID, and AWS Identity Centre.
• Base CF templates for Bedrock and AgentCore integration.
• Integrate with Data Platform from a Silver and Gold layer perspective.
• CI/CD pipelines where appropriate.
• Everything backed by CloudFormation.

We are looking for a AWS Platform Engineer to join our cloud team.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration and deployment of applications, improve efficiency through automation, and implement best practices for continuous integration and delivery.

This is a client-facing consulting role where you will engage directly with enterprise clients across financial services, telecommunications, government, and other sectors. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and drive the adoption of best practices.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving innovation in cloud infrastructure.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up Sage Maker Unified Studio (SMUS).


• Collaborate with the networking team and advise on VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups etc.


• Automate domain creation and project creation within SMUS, MyAccess and EntraID.


• Integrate with EntraID, and AWS Identity Centre.


• Base CF template that allows Bedrock and AgentCore integration at the very least.


• Integration to the Data Platform from a Silver and Gold layer perspective.


• CI/CD pipelines where appropriate.


• Everything backed by CloudFormation.
