AWS DevOps Engineer

AWS DevOps Engineer required in Cape Town (Remote).

Our client is scaling. Fast. To keep up, we’re looking for a strong AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team and help clear a heavy tech backlog.

The Company is a high-growth FinTech startup building the only truly cross-border banking platform. Their mission? To help businesses move money globally – with fewer barriers, faster execution, and more control.

Their platform powers international trade, simplifies complex transactions, and gives their clients a serious edge.

This is a 6-month contract role, ideal for someone who thrives in high-pace environments. You’ll jump in and hit the ground running – managing and scaling AWS infrastructure, optimising CI/CD pipelines, and bringing DevOps best practices to a rapidly evolving engineering setup.

Type: 6-month Contract.

Rate: R60 000 – R90 000 Depending on experience.

What you’ll do:

• Set up, manage, and improve AWS infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with the product and engineering teams to improve delivery.
• Pick up and close out backlog tasks – fast.
• Write infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar).
• Improve reliability, uptime and system performance.

What they’re after:

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, ideally with recent AWS-heavy projects.
• FinTech or financial services exposure – you get the sensitivity around data, compliance, and uptime.
• Confident with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
• Available to jump in now and hit deliverables quickly.
• Quick to pick things up and able to work independently.
• Comfortable in a scale-up/startup environment.
• South Africa-based, remote OK.
• Bonus if you’ve dealt with distributed systems or cross-border payment platforms.
