Placements24 is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. You will design, integrate and test complex avionics systems for next-generation aircraft, collaborating with a global team to deliver high-performance solutions.

The role requires a Master's degree and at least six years in avionics, with hands-on experience in HIL, MATLAB/Simulink, and DOORS. Remote work within South Africa is supported, with opportunities for growth and industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical, Computer or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of avionics systems engineering experience.
• Proven experience in avionics design, integration and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Modelica for simulations.
• Knowledge of ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet and avionics architecture.
• Experience with DOORS and version control systems; remote work eligibility in SA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate avionics systems, including navigation, communication, flight control, and data management systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in avionics systems engineering.
• Proven experience with avionics system design, integration, and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica) and testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of avionics standards, protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet), and architecture.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and version control systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work remotely within South Africa .
