Job summary

Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, testing, and certification of complex avionics systems for aircraft. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and efficient flight systems in the Richards Bay region.

The role requires strong knowledge of avionic hardware and software, ARINC standards, and familiarity with flight test procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of avionic standards such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664, MIL-STD-1553.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify avionics system architectures, including communication, navigation, and surveillance systems.
• Develop and execute integration and testing plans for avionics hardware and software.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA, SACAA) throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to avionics system performance and integration.
• Document system requirements, design specifications, and test results meticulously.
