About the Role

Our client, a significant airport operator in the Paarl, Western Cape region, is actively seeking an experienced Aviation Security Specialist. This critical role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive security protocols to ensure the safety and security of passengers, staff, aircraft, and airport infrastructure. The Aviation Security Specialist will conduct risk assessments, manage security personnel, liaise with regulatory bodies, and respond to security incidents. This is a hybrid role, involving on-site management and oversight of security operations, as well as remote capabilities for strategic planning, policy development, and administrative tasks. Our client is dedicated to maintaining the highest aviation security standards and is looking for a proactive individual to lead these efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain aviation security programs and policies in compliance with national and international regulations.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability analyses of airport facilities and operations.
• Oversee and manage on-site security personnel, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for security matters with regulatory agencies (e.g., Civil Aviation Authority).
• Investigate and report on security incidents, breaches, and suspicious activities.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to airport staff and stakeholders.
• Manage the procurement and maintenance of security equipment and technology.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure integrated security operations.
