Description
- Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches, threats, and suspicious activities;
- Collect and analyse evidence, including CCTV footage and security reports;
- Document findings and prepare comprehensive investigative reports;
- Ensure compliance with national and regional aviation security regulations (e.g., SACAA);
- Identify vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation measures;
- Monitor and enforce security protocols within the organisation;
- Liaise with intelligence and regulatory bodies to stay updated on emerging threats;
- Support security audits and inspections;
- Assist in emergency response planning and execution during security incidents;
- Provide support in handling hijackings, bomb threats, and unauthorised access cases;
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on investigation outcomes;
- Conduct risk assessments for all operational bases, reviewing and updating them annually;
- Review and update the Risk register annually or according to threats and concerns identified;
- Promote security culture to employees and stakeholders;
- Conduct briefings on security procedures and best practices;
- Support the development and implementation of security policies and training programs;
- Maintain detailed records of all security incidents and investigations;
- Prepare incident trend analysis reports to identify recurring threats;
- Recommend security enhancements based on investigative findings;
- Conduct spot checks and assessments on cabin crew adherence to aviation security procedures;
- Ensure compliance with SACAA regulations, and FlySafair security policies in all on-board operations;
- Guide cabin crew on security protocols, including handling unruly passengers, managing security-sensitive information, and emergency response;
- Work closely with cabin crew management to ensure security procedures and catering compliance are seamlessly integrated into flight operations;
- Assist in internal investigations related to noncompliance by cabin crew or operational teams;
- Provide reports and feedback to security management on security performance and compliance gaps;
- Maintain records of compliance checks and incident reports related to cabin crew security-performance and incidents;
- Support emergency response planning and ensure that cabin crew are prepared for security-related contingencies;
- Conduct spot checks on Cabin Crew luggage.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Airline or Security environment (Essential);
- Experience in security environment (Essential);
- Experience with IQSMS system (Advantageous);
- Must have a valid Driver's License;
- State Security Authority Vetting (Advantageous);
- Willing to travel to all bases;
- Willing to work overtime and standby;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
- Knowledge and understanding of all appropriate security responsibilities as detailed in relevant SACAA documents (Essential);
- Broad understanding of International Aviation Security requirements;
- Knowledge of investigation principles and procedures.
