As part of our ongoing projects, we are seeking highly skilled Aveva Enterprise Historian Consultants to join our team for a contract-based engagement with different clients. This role involves working on the upgrade and migration of clients' Enterprise Historian system from eDNA to Pi.
Job Overview
The Aveva Enterprise Historian Specialist will be responsible for:
- Supporting clients in migrating from eDNA to Pi Historian.
- Conducting a Business Impact Assessment to assess the migration's implications.
- Developing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for seamless integration.
- Collaborating with client's IT / OT teams to ensure system alignment.
- Ensuring compliance with data security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
This is a contracting role where the specialist will be employed by Digital Knowledge and deployed to clients as part of our professional services offering.
Key Responsibilities
3.1 System Migration & Implementation
- Assist with the assessment, planning, and execution of the migration from eDNA to Pi Historian.
- Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and ensure alignment with client operational requirements.
- Support data validation, testing, and verification of migrated historian data.
- Collaborate with client IT / OT, analytics, and engineering teams to optimize historian integration.
3.2 Business Impact & Technical Assessment
- Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to evaluate system dependencies and risk mitigation.
- Define integration strategies for real-time data processing, analytics, and visualization.
- Ensure historian data reliability, integrity, and security across multiple plants.
3.3 Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with client's IT security policies, data governance, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with historian migration and data integration.
- Provide technical documentation, status reports, and risk assessment plans.
3.4 Stakeholder Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
- Work closely with client data engineers, analysts, and control system teams.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, training, and user adoption of the new historian system.
- Ensure smooth handover post-implementation with proper documentation and support.
Required Qualifications & Skills
4.1 Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in Aveva System Platform, OMI, or Pi Historian (Highly Advantageous).
4.2 Technical Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial historian systems (eDNA / Pi Historian).
- Strong knowledge of historian data architecture, real-time data processing, and OT / IT integration.
- Experience in Functional Design Specification (FDS) development.
- Familiarity with SCADA, IoT, automation systems, and predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or scripting for data manipulation and automation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with clients' teams.
- Highly detail-oriented and process-driven.
Employment Terms & Conditions
This is a contract role where the specialist will be employed by Digital Knowledge and contracted out to clients. The specialist will be required to adhere to client IT security policies and compliance regulations. The contract is for 4 months full time with potential for extension based on performance and project requirements.
