Job summary

Schlemmer is seeking a meticulous Test Technician – Services to join its Technical Services team in Pretoria on a fixed-term contract through December 2026. You will conduct vehicle testing, perform pre-delivery inspections, and diagnose faults while keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

You will review test requests, maintain equipment, and escalate off-spec findings. A Mechanical Trade Test and relevant Vehicle Technician qualifications are required, along with

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with strong written and spoken English.
• Mechanical Trade Test certification.
• Vehicle Technician qualification – Nissan N-STEP advantageous.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Valid Code B (08) driver’s licence with no endorsements.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
• Computer literate with MS Office skills.
• Strong technical and analytical ability.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Clear criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle testing in accordance with company and customer standards.
• Review test requests and ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections on vehicles.
• Investigate and diagnose faults on problem vehicles.
• Monitor, record, and report testing results, faults, and issues.
• Track testing progress and escalate off-spec findings to management.
• Ensure testing procedures meet quality and safety standards.
• Design and develop test jigs to improve processes as needed.
• Accurately capture and report testing data.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good condition.
• Ensure vehicles are fitted and allocated per standards and procedures.
• Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance.
