Job DescriptionJob Description

The Rallye Motor Company, Long Island's premiere luxury automotive group, has an immediate opportunity for a Tire Technicians and Shop Assistants with Rallye BMW! Seeking reliable and motivated individuals with automotive experience, looking to join a team whose values are based on teamwork and delivering the highest caliber of customer service!

Tire Technician Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assess tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health.
  • Recommend appropriate repair treatment or replacement of tires.
  • Repair punctures and replace faulty valves.
  • Install new tires.
  • Balance tires and complete wheel alignment procedures.
  • Conduct roadside repairs.
  • Examine vehicles to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to the Service Advisor.
  • Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on the repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised.
  • Clearly and accurately document all work performed; ensure accurate time stamps for warranty, internal, and customer pay work.
  • Road test vehicles as required or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate.
  • Only perform work that is authorized by the customer or by the warranty.
  • Work and enter third party tire claims through various electronic applications.

Shop Assistant / QC Tech Responsibilities:

  • Examine and test-drive all vehicles to ensure that the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend/ perform repairs are completed. Communicate all discrepancies to the Service Manager.
  • Road test vehicles as required or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate.
  • Inspecting all work as described on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Charge all vehicle batteries.
  • Move Vehicles in and around the shop.
  • Assist in towing in all non-running vehicles using shop supplied equipment.
  • Shop organization including equipment, tools, supplies, and parts.
  • Communicate discrepancies to service advisors/service managers.

PAY: $17 hourly to $20 hourly based on experience

Requirements

  • A clean & valid New York State Driver’s License
  • Basic mechanical skills, manual dexterity.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment
  • NYS Inspectors license strongly
  • Experience with Hunter machines.
  • High volume tire mounting experience.
  • Professional personal appearance.
