About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and analytical Automotive Performance Specialist to contribute to their ambitious projects. This role is critical for enhancing the performance characteristics of vehicles, focusing on areas such as engine tuning, aerodynamics, and chassis dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a strong ability to interpret complex performance data. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating closely with our distributed engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing vehicle performance to meet and exceed client expectations, contributing to groundbreaking developments in the automotive field.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze vehicle performance data to identify areas for improvement
• Develop and implement tuning strategies for engine control units (ECUs) to optimize power and efficiency
• Conduct aerodynamic simulations and recommend design modifications for improved performance
• Evaluate and advise on chassis setup, suspension tuning, and braking systems for enhanced handling and stability
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate performance enhancements into vehicle development
• Prepare detailed performance reports and present findings to stakeholders
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in automotive performance engineering
• Utilize advanced simulation software and data acquisition tools to validate performance changes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in automotive performance tuning, diagnostics, and analysis
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, ECU mapping, and vehicle dynamics
• Proficiency in performance data acquisition software and analysis tools (e.g., MoTeC, AIM)
• Experience with CFD and FEA simulation software is a significant advantage
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with a remote team
