Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Trainee Automotive Mechanic Apprentice to work in our Centurion workshop. This apprenticeship provides a solid foundation in automotive repair, combining hands-on experience with theory as you learn to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of vehicles under supervision.

You will gain practical skills from seasoned technicians, with mentorship and a clear path to becoming a fully qualified mechanic.

Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent, with a strong aptitude for mechanics and technology.
• Passion for cars and the automotive industry.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop setting.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills continuously.
• Must be physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics with vehicle diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn to perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Gain proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and part replacements under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
• Study automotive systems and repair procedures to build technical knowledge.
