Placements24 seeks an experienced Automotive Electrician Technician to join a fully remote team. The role covers installation, testing and troubleshooting of advanced electrical systems for prototype vehicles and test rigs.

You will diagnose complex issues, interpret wiring diagrams, calibrate ECUs and collaborate with engineers across locations, while maintaining rigorous safety and documentation standards. This position is based remotely from Upington, Northern Cape.

Competenze

• 3+ years hands-on experience as Automotive Electrician or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes and related testing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher).
• Experience with automotive prototyping is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A relevant technical qualification in Automotive Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Electrician or in a similar electrical technician role.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN bus, and related technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Good communication skills for collaboration with a distributed team.
• A valid driver's license (Code 08 or higher).
• Experience with automotive prototyping is a significant advantage.
