Job summary
On Line Personnel in Gqeberha seeks a Product Technician (Assembly) for automotive production with strong electrical fault-finding, vehicle diagnostics and harness/ECU expertise. You will read electrical drawings, diagnose faults, and support production under pressure while coaching operators and collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams.
The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or a relevant auto trade certificate, plus 3–5 years' automotive
Qualifications
- National Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (excluding heavy current) or Mechatronics.
- Trade Certificate: Auto Electrician / Electrician / Millwright.
- 3–5 years in automotive assembly with electrical fault-finding.
- 3 years in vehicle manufacturing with focus on electronics.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and diagnose faults.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on production support for electrical faults and stoppages.
- Diagnose harness issues, ECU faults and fitment/connection problems.
- Contain and recover defects to minimise downtime and quality impact.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring faults and drive corrective actions.
- Identify and improve assembly process weaknesses related to electronics.
- Coach operators on correct electrical fitment and fault prevention.
- Coordinate action plans with Production, Planning and Quality.
