Job description

Overall responsibility for electrical automation technology asset care (maintenance and troubleshooting)

  1. Execute defined maintenance strategies/routines related to industrial electronic equipment.
  2. Continuously improve mill reliability KPIs related to electrical automation.
  3. Support the implementation of new technologies and keep up to date with industry advancements.
  4. Perform mill-wide electrical automation technician standby duties as required.
  5. Coordinate with and support the plant electrical team in problem-solving.
  6. Contribute to a database of electronic failures to facilitate system reliability reviews and technical support.
  7. Manage engineering maintenance execution, including shutdowns and asset care.
  8. Ensure excellent maintenance execution on large industrial sites.
  9. Possess a good understanding of mechanical (basic), electrical (expert), instrumentation, and automation (expert) engineering fields, with the ability to mentor others.
  10. Have a robust technical background in electrical automation.
  11. Prioritize and manage time effectively to achieve consistent results.
  12. Solve complex electrical automation problems, from program debugging to expert knowledge of electrical starters, relays, VFDs, UPS, and battery management systems.

Your profiles:

  1. S4 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy current).
  2. BTech qualification is advantageous.
  3. 3 to 5 years of solid experience in heavy engineering and production, specifically in electrical automation related to the pulp & paper industry.
  4. 1 to 2 years technician-in-training experience is advantageous.
  5. Experience in Pulp & Paper or equivalent technologies.
  6. Excellent understanding of electrical automation technology, including VSDs, PLCs, DCS, motor control, protection relays, rectifiers, engineering PCs and servers, and basic IT.
  7. Good understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, Serial bus communication.
  8. Familiarity with Siemens Simatic Manager, TIA Portal, ABB 800 XA, InTouch SCADA.
  9. Knowledge of Functional Safety Systems, Advanced Process Control, and Distributed Control Systems (Valmet DNA DCS preferred).
  10. Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical automation systems.
