Job Opportunity: Automation Technician

Job Description:
  • Oversee and maintain electronic systems including fiber optics, IP networks, databases, and machine control software.
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC system issues (no programming required) to ensure smooth machine operation.
  • Handle wiring, equipment installation, and machine calibration; experience with weighing systems is a plus.
  • Provide expert technical support and training to customers, helping them leverage automation capabilities.
  • Take charge in the field to address onsite challenges with quick thinking and technical expertise.
  • Continuously enhance machine performance, efficiency, and automation processes.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both customers and colleagues; fluency in Afrikaans is required.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Afrikaans is essential.
  • Strong IT skills combined with a background in electronic technology.
  • Proven ability to perform accurate machine calibration.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, ABB, Honeywell, or other major platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid passport (required for international travel).
