Communicate Recruitment is seeking a qualified Millwright for an on-site role in Johannesburg to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system faults on production equipment. You will support automated manufacturing processes, carry out preventive maintenance, and assist with new equipment installation and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has a Red Seal Millwright and hands-on PLC experience, with exposure to major PLC platforms and process control principles.

Qualificações

• Red Seal Millwright with post-trade experience.
• Experience in automation-intensive manufacturing or production environments.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial control systems.
• Exposure to Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider or similar platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system faults on production equipment.
• Support operation, maintenance and optimisation of automated manufacturing processes.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Investigate root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Program modifications and fault diagnosis on PLC-driven systems where required.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new plant equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance plant productivity.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with quality, safety, and procedures.

Job Description:

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system faults on production equipment

Support the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of automated manufacturing processes

Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdown repairs

Investigate root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions

Program modifications and fault diagnosis on PLC-driven systems where required

Ensure maintenance activities comply with company quality, safety, and operational procedures

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Red Seal Millwright with relevant post-trade experience
• Proven experience within automation-intensive manufacturing or production environments
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial control systems
• Exposure to Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider, or similar automation platforms
• Understanding of instrumentation, industrial networking, and process control principles
• Experience working with motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and servo systems
• Ability to analyse complex equipment failures and implement sustainable solutions
• Strong organisational and technical reporting skills
• Capable of working independently while maintaining effective teamwork across departments
• Experience within FMCG, packaging, bottling, processing, or automated manufacturing environments will be advantageous

Qualification:

• Red Seal Millwright Trade Test.
• Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
