Job summary

Rio Tinto in Richards Bay is seeking an Artisan Auto Electrician to perform preventative electrical maintenance on engines to maximize plant availability and minimize downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance Controller, you will inspect, repair and maintain assets and engines to support production.

The role requires Matric with Maths and Science or N3, a Trade Test Auto Electrician, a SA driver's license, and 2–5 years in heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Matric with Maths and Science or N3 required.
• Trade test auto electrician certified.
• 2–5 years of work experience in heavy industry.
• Valid SA driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain assets and engines to minimize production impact.
• Oversee and support maintenance jobs of all servicepersons.
• Perform condition monitoring and fault finding on engines and equipment.
• Adhere to SHEQ and technical requirements aligned with plant targets.
• Follow planned maintenance schedules and minimize re-work.
• Optimize use of resources, including people and equipment.
• Provide technical evaluation of equipment and projects.
