About the Role

An auto electrician is an automotive professional who installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs all electrical parts of automotive vehicles.

They work on cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles in the transportation industry.

Auto electricians specialize in installing and maintaining electrical systems contained in automotive vehicles.

They work with a variety of electrical components, such as batteries, alternators, electronic fuel injection systems, ABS systems, and various sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and overhauls on electrical systems in GSE equipment and vehicles.
  • Install, maintain, identify faults, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in GSE equipment and vehicles.
  • Diagnose, repair, and service the company fleet of GSE equipment and vehicles in accordance with the company and manufacturers' work specifications.
  • Timely creation and accurate completion of all job cards.
  • Attend to unscheduled breakdowns and repair with minimum delay.
  • Carry out all necessary checks and inspections for all equipment and vehicles at the required intervals, adhering to quality standards.
  • Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance as instructed, following the company's quality standards and stipulated intervals.
  • Provide electrical support and guidance to Senior Mechanics, Junior Mechanics, and GSE General Workers.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, observing housekeeping rules at all times.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments on equipment and operations, ensuring all safe operating procedures are followed.
  • Respond to out-of-hours urgent calls when required.
  • Promote and drive the 'Safety First' culture throughout the organization.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Auto Electrician with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Trade enrichment skills: Diesel, Petrol, Air Conditioning, Hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of GSE, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Earth Moving Equipment is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with various departments, airport authority members, and managers at all levels.
  • Valid code 10 driver's license.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
