Job description

A leading and reputable accounting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Manager to lead its audit team. This is a senior-level opportunity ideal for a qualified CA(SA) or CTA graduate with strong leadership capabilities, excellent technical expertise, and a passion for high-quality audit delivery.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple audit teams and client portfolios, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and adding strategic value to client engagements. This role requires strong people management skills, in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage multiple audit engagements from planning to completion

Oversee the preparation and review of audit files and financial statements

Ensure audits comply with relevant standards (IFRS, ISA, etc.)

Lead, coach, and mentor audit teams to meet performance and development goals

Maintain strong client relationships and provide value-added insights

Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement process improvements

Ensure timeous delivery of audit reports and manage deadlines and budgets

Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes affecting the audit environment

Minimum Requirements :

Completed CTA or registered Chartered Accountant CA(SA)

Completion of SAICA Articles

Registered with SAICA

Proven experience in an audit management or senior audit role

Strong leadership and team management abilities

In-depth knowledge of auditing standards , regulations, and financial reporting frameworks

Proficient in audit software (e.g. CaseWare) and Microsoft Office

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal and client management skills
