Purpose of the role:

To support the Audit & Compliance Manager by assisting in the coordination and execution of internal audits, managing documentation for compliance programs, supporting pest control monitoring, product distribution compliance, and helping maintain customer technical requirements for export customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits against food safety, quality, and customer standards.
  • Maintain records of audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support pest control monitoring, maintain reports, and coordinate actions with pest control contractors.
  • Assist in verifying product release records and documentation to ensure compliance with customer and legal requirements.
  • Support the Technical Managers in preparing for customer and third-party audits.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, quality records, and customer compliance reports.
  • Help manage traceability exercises and gather supporting documentation for investigations or complaints.
  • Assist in the review of records, hygiene inspections, and factory standards checks.
  • Provide support for new product launches and technical trials.
  • Ensure good communication and teamwork within the technical department and with other site departments.
  • Carry out any additional technical tasks as directed by the Audit & Compliance Manager.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 and preferably Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing or fresh produce environment is preferred.
  • Internal Auditor training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and quality systems are desirable.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of food safety, quality standards, and technical systems.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
