Job summary

Au Pair Extraordinaire in Stellenbosch is seeking an energetic au pair to care for two children aged 6 and 4 from January 2027 on a permanent contract. The role is Monday to Friday 15:00–19:00 with occasional evenings and weekend babysitting by arrangement.

You must have at least 1 year au pair experience, own reliable car, and solid childcare references. Starting salary ranges from R7500 to R10000 per month plus SARS kilometres rates, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience within the last 2 years.
• Own reliable car with at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Clear criminal record.
• Passion for children.
• Matric.
• South African ID document.

Responsibilities

• Transport children between school, home, and activities.
• Assist with homework, projects, and test preparation.
• Liaise with teachers on children’s progress.
• Prepare and serve meals.
• Engage children in stimulating play and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Plan fun and creative activities.
• Take children to appointments and other scheduled outings.
• Run errands for the family.
• Babysit and work some weekends.
• Accompany and manage children on outings and playdates.
• Maintain positive communication with parents and staff.
