Some Responsibilities May Include
Conducting Food Safety Inspections
Perform regular on-site inspections of retail stores and distribution centres.
Assess food handling, preparation, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with legal and client-specific requirements.
Ensuring Audit Compliance
Confirm that retail stores follow established food safety and hygiene guidelines.
Review Key Records, Including
Temperature logs
Cleaning schedules
Employee training documents
Pest control reports
Conduct thorough evaluations of food premises, procedures, and practices based on pre-determined standards.
Adhere to client-specific behaviour expectations during audits and visits.
Coordinate with the Key Account Manager to resolve disputes where necessary.
Complete the electronic client confirmation slip for each audit, including:
Date
Start and end times
Discussion confirmation
Signatures of the auditor and store representative.
Reporting and Documentation
Use objective evidence gathered during evaluations to create clear, accurate, and concise audit reports.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, B. Tech or National Diploma in Food Science, Food Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years experience in conducting food safety inspections, audits, or related roles within the food industry.
Understanding of the requirements of R638 from the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act 54 of 1972, and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and regulations.
Own reliable vehicle and driver's license.
