The Talent Manager role
The Talent Manager acts as the first point of contact for employees and leaders within select practices of the EY Assurance service line.
The incumbent should possess a deep understanding of the business needs and strategy of the practice or area. They should be capable of translating these needs into relevant talent initiatives and ensuring the successful implementation of key, high-touch people processes and initiatives aligned with business strategies.
Key responsibilities
As a Talent Manager, your responsibilities include providing consultative support to various business units within the Assurance Service Line concerning the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring efficient HR service delivery.
You will engage with the business to develop the talent agenda based on their needs and drivers.
Other responsibilities include:
- Partnering and communicating extensively with business leaders to design and deliver talent initiatives; providing coaching and guidance to support the firm's strategic growth agenda.
- Executing major talent processes such as compensation planning, performance management, talent development, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies across a geography or practice area, in coordination with the Talent team.
- Serving as the first point of contact on employee relations issues; managing or escalating issues appropriately.
- Providing coaching to Sub Service Line leaders on managing employee issues.
- Coordinating with Learning & Development Consultants on program implementation.
- Collaborating with Talent Acquisition to support hiring aligned with strategic growth.
- Working with Talent Shared Services to handle administrative issues.
- Advising on compensation & benefits, flexible working, health, and well-being programs to enhance engagement, retention, and performance.
- Responding to complex employee queries escalated from business units.
- Supporting training and development initiatives in collaboration with the SAICA training office.
- Assisting in managing high potential exits proactively.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an HR Business Partner role.
