ROLE PURPOSE
The Transmission Assurance role is responsible for providing a function within the Transmission Service Assurance space and supporting operations for global EBU customers. This entails monitoring Access Nodes, resolving, and communicating failures as they occur.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Perform assurance on the transmission network from an NOC perspective 24/7/365 – shift work
- Assist in resolving P1 to P4 failures by engaging with high-level support
- Provide transmission assurance support to and from Field Force Outsource for Edge and Access infrastructure
- Effectively communicate service outage statuses and escalate as per the established vendor support and escalation matrix
- Ensure all faults are fixed within the relevant SLA
- Use reports from OSS platforms to identify issues and failures requiring corrective action
- Support operations, NMG, and EBU Edge and Access infrastructure with transmission assurance
- Liaise with vendors and fiber providers to resolve network faults within agreed timelines
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for proactive support of global customers
Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience
- High-level understanding and experience in DWDM networks
- Good knowledge and experience in Optical Fiber technologies and Synchronization
- Understanding of routing and transport protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, etc.)
- Troubleshooting skills
- Analytical thinking and solution-oriented approach; resilient planning and implementation
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications
- B-Tech degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or IT-related fields
- 3-5 years of work experience in the telecom industry, specifically in Transmission Assurance (Maintenance) and Transmission Systems
- Minimum of 5 years' experience troubleshooting large IP/MPLS networks
- CCNA certification in Routing and Switching is essential; CCNP is advantageous
- Experience with Symmetric, Nokia, and related applications
