JOB DESCRIPTION
Ensure prompt reporting and that all deadlines are being achieved.
- Review the allocation of audits to staff ensuring understanding of duties.
- Review composition of audit teams.
- Complete relevant sections of the PRs for team members and discuss reports with them.
- Ensure trainees complete TSR, PSR, and ER (as relevant).
- Supervise and guide trainees regularly to perform required audit work and achieve competencies as per SAICA standards.
- Coach, train, and develop auditing staff to upgrade their knowledge both on the job and in the office environment.
- Complete managers' performance evaluations and discuss with the engagement partner.
- Mentor staff.
- Implement consequence management if trainees transgress quality standards or commit offences.
- Identify client needs requiring additional services and inform the engagement director.
- Ensure full compliance with the firm's quality control processes.
- Review risks identified during planning and materiality levels to focus audit efforts.
- Ensure AFS are correctly prepared and tie back to audit files, with accounting policies aligned with IFRS or applicable reporting frameworks.
- Achieve team and individual budgets and performance objectives.
- Create client projects on Maconomy in advance.
- Provide engagement director with cash flow forecasts timely.
- Manage billing and collection for your portfolio.
- Review and approve leave applications of mentees.
- Take leadership roles in professional, business, or community organizations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, e.g., graduate recruitment.
Qualifications: CA(SA)
Experience: 2-3 years post-articles experience
